BREAKING NEWS: A massive 7.4 magnitude earthquake has hit New Zealand's South Island, causing widespread damage and cutting power.

The quake was centred 30km west of Christchurch and 33km underground. It hit at 4.35am and there have been many reports of damage, including buildings being flattened.

It was felt widely across the South Island, including Christchurch and Timaru, and there have also been reports of the quake being felt as far as Wellington. Several aftershocks have been felt.

The rail network in the South Island has been shut down while it is inspected for damage.

Down here I guess it was far from as bad as it was in Christchurch but it was still enough to wake me up, felt like I was on a sweet massage bed! Super weird but pretty cool feeling! 

Either way I think we are all good here in Queenstown so I am about to head up to the mountain and work on my "never ever getting off balance or backseat in between turns" skills!

Weather today was mega shit! Warner caught a break  with start nr 1, but when I was about to drop with start nr 8 the weather had rolled in and the snow was dumping, to top things off I got held on the start for a few minutes by a course hold and some nice snow had time to settle in the track, making it really soft and slow. After that, things just got worse and the guys after me was 3-4 sec out and a few even dropped out, no chance!

Once agian I found myself more the a second out after the first run, so despite a decent second run I ended up far from where I wanted to be. Pretty bummed about my number curse…

On the GREAT side Warner took advantage of the weather and bib 1, scored another 6 point result and will now be ranked 31 in the World,  kick ass to say the least!

Just got back from the gym where I turned my frustration to motivation, everyone is going out tonight, I am going to be on the hill at 07.30 and make sure I do my best to avoid the feeling that disappointment delivers.

What also makes me happy are these new spy shots of the new Lamborghini "Jota" It is still a pretty heavily camouflaged test car, but I feel like the side air intake looks pretty close production, a detail I really think looks kick ass! I hope the rest of the car will be as far away from the Murcielago as the side intakes are, its much more fun with a totally new car!  

Cant wait to see more shots of this car! According to both the Swedish and Monaco Lambo dealers this car will be deliverd to customers in may next year… That is if you put a down payment on it now (without seeing it) if you wait for the revealing of the car it will be next fall… hmmmm

Have to run, have a meeting with the snow cat guys over in Treble Cone in a couple of hours so its time to get going!  The jump is happening!

I am going to let Johnny Drama speak for this one!

I am so stoked right now! I came out this morning to the New Zealand GS Championship with good confidence, but I knew that my late start nr could be an issue. I finished a strong first on snow that was the worst I have seen so far in my race comeback, still made it into a third position from bib 14.

In between runs I was super confident, I just sort of had a feeling that I would win today, a feeling I could really get used to!

After a tough top part on the second run I nailed the important turns and carried good speeds onto the flats, even had time to talk to myself saying “lets win this one” coming through the last few gates… When I heard the guys scream as I crossed the finish line I know that it was good, but I still had to see two more guys go down before I knew the result. When Espen passed the finish line close to half a second behind me I know that I had done the best result of my race comeback!.

Scoring a 10.94 result means that I will move up in the world ranks from 85th to a 64^th when the next list comes out, and even more importantly moving me up to nr 3 on the Swedish GS rankings, something that I am more the thrilled about!

I had had a few doubts on my skiing this summer as I had been testing a lot of new things and not figured them out yet, so to get this result meant a lot to me as I know that all the hard work has paid off!

Still two more races to go down here in NZ, with a better starting field and hopefully a better bib nr in the first run I feel confident that I can improve my rankings further! I also think I learnt a little more about how to pump myself up for a racing, all I thought of today was to throw down as hard as I could and not worry about anything, think that is the winning way for me!

Right now its time for a jog to freshen up the legs and get ready for another day of improvement on the hill tomorrow!

 Super pumped and really happy about everything, the feeling of winning just kicks some major ass! Its just such an amazing feeling! 

 The dream of making the the  2014 Olympics is now more alive then ever!
